APPLEMAN, BYRON M., 86 OF BLAIRSVILLE ,PA

passed away on Tuesday, December 05, 2017 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. He was born March 02, 1931 in Williamsburg, PA, the son of D. Franklin Appleman and Nancy G. (Parks) Appleman. He was a member of the Black Lick United Methodist Church, Black Lick, PA. Byron served in the US Air Force being stationed in England during the Korean War with a rank of Staff Sergeant. He had attended Penn State in Altoona where he received a 2 year electrical degree. Byron retired after 24 years of service from Penelec Power Station as an electrical foreman. He enjoyed working in his orchard and gardening. Byron sang in the Church Choir, served many years as a trustee, held numerous positions in the church and also was a Sunday School teacher. He always enjoyed helping the United Methodist Women make apple butter at the church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eunice (Strunk) Appleman of Blairsville, PA; son, Stephen P. Appleman of Pocatello, ID; brother, Drew Appleman & wife, Gwendolyn of Williamsburg, PA; 1 Niece & Several Nephews with a special thanks to Pepper & Brady for their faithful support over the years. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Clarence, Richard & Harold Appleman and his sister, Leona Smyers. The family will receive friends at the Black Lick United Methodist Church, 36 Walnut St., Black Lick, PA 15716 on Saturday, December 09, 2017 from 10:00 AM to12:00 PM, the time of the funeral service. Rev. Brett Dinger will officiate. Interment will be in the Bellwood Cemetery, Bellwood, PA
