A. LOUISE ROBINSON, 84, of 2936 Pawtucket Ave., the first black sales clerk hired by the former Outlet Co. in 1947, where she worked for 33 years before retiring in 1980, died Saturday at Miriam Hospital, Providence.
Born in Richmond, Va., a daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillie (Ellis) Tinsley, she lived in Providence for many years before moving to East Providence 17 years ago. Mrs. Robinson was a treasurer for the employees' union at the Outlet Co. She was a member of the Junior Service League of Providence, and a founding member of the Urban League.
She is survived by a daughter and a granddaughter.
