David Eugene Cleveland, age 70, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. David was born in Battle Creek Michigan on December 22, 1946 to Richard and Donna Cleveland. He was a former 32-year resident of Clarkston, Michigan moving to Oscoda, Michigan in 2011 with his lovely wife Kathey whom he married in 1970. David graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo followed by graduating from and earning his M.B.A. from Wayne State in Detroit, Michigan. Following a brief tour of duty in the United States Navy, he served as a teacher with Lake Orion School Systems for 15 years additionally serving as the boys and girls tennis coach. After his teaching career, he worked for Compuware as a System's Analyst. David enjoyed sailing, golf, hunting, and camping and was a member of the Elks, VFW, American Legion, Eagles, and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at Western. In addition to his wife Kathey, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Cleveland and his niece, Michelle (Jorge) Gonzalez and nephew, Christopher (Catherine) Cleveland. David is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Cleveland. No services are planned at this time.
