Mrs. Edward Yowell
Grace Yowell, daughter of William Henry and Minerva Benedict, was born March 26, 1885 in Lamar, Kansas. She departed this life April 17, 1957 at the age of 71 years and 22 days.
She spent all her life near the Lamar community.
On April 4, 1907 she was united in marriage to Edward Yowell at her parent’s home. To this union one son was born.
Mrs. Yowell was a member of the Lamar Methodist Church and was active in church work for as long as her health permitted.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Edward; her son Wayne and his wife Doris; her grandson, Dr. Donald Yowell, who is stationed in Japan, and his wife, JoAnn; two great-granddaughters, Ann and Donalea Yowell, Delphos; one sister, Ethel Benedict, San Bernardino, Calif.; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Lamar Methodist Church on Friday afternoon, with Rev. K. R. Redfearn in charge.
Music was provided by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. T.A. Cooper, Mrs. Loris Motter, Robert Stewart and Reuben Thomas. Mrs. Reuben Thomas accompanied on the piano.
Interment was in Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruff Wilkins, Lysle Tennyson, Leslie Phillipson, George Shroyer, Ben Flett and Rolland Allison.
