Mr. Joseph Connellan Browne, 90, died Friday, December 8, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Browne was born in Surry County December 20, 1926, a son of the late Robert Connellan Browne and Mary Alice Welch Browne. He was retired from AT&T- Lucent Technology and was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army. Mr. Brown loved life to the fullest, spending time with his family, loved being outside, woodworking and working in electronics at AT&T. Surviving his wife, of 69 years, Mrs. Norma Watson Browne of the home. One son, Robert Browne and wife Rebecca of Wilkesboro. Two grandchildren, Eric and Ashlie Browne, and five great-grandchildren, Zane, Aubriella, Joshua, Laci and Emma Rose. Two brothers, Francis Browne and wife Gay of Mount Airy and David Browne and wife Janie of South Carolina; one sister, Therese Abraham and husband Malouf of Texas. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel 10301 N. NC Hwy. 109 Winston-Salem with the Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family would like to Thank the many staff members at Hospice and Palliative Care Center for all the Loving Care they gave to Mr. Browne during the time of his illness.
