AL ANTON was found in various census records as Al; Allen; Allan; Allanry and Albert. He is listed in the 1920 census in the Montgomery County Poor Farm as widowed - his wife was Magdaline (can not find her maiden name) same age as he is in 187 Chicago, Ward 16 where the Chicago fire took place. His daughter is Christina, age 2 months. I can not find what happened to them but he is widowed by 1880. His obituary says he lost his tailory in the Chicago fire but this makes one wonder if his wife and child were lost too. He came (unknown reason other than the fire, I guess) to the New Richmond and Wingate area where he lived around renting from various individuals and is listed as a tailor in every census. He was born in Illinois, assumedly Chicago and his parents were born in France. Sure wish we knew more about this poor farm fella' but at least he was not buried at the County Farm with so many of the other paupers. RIP Al Anton
