Mildred is survived by her children, Linda Burke and James Kilgallon; grandchildren, Robert Burke and his wife, Jacqueline, Michael Burke and his wife, Amanda, James Kilgallon and his wife, Traci, and Christopher Kilgallon; and great-grandchildren, Sean and Liam Burke and Emma and Isabel Kilgallon.
Mildred was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Vivian; husband, Leo Kilgallon; daughter, Vivian Lee; and four sisters, Bess, Gertie, Bertha and Edith.
Mildred was born in Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 8, 1916. A graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, she worked as the manager of the hat department at Isaac Long's Department Store, and later in the credit department of Lazarus Department Store.
"Millie" loved to spend time at Lake Silkworth with her sisters and loved going to the shore every year with her family.
Mildred's last few years were spent at Wesley Village, where she received exceptional care from the staff.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mildred's life.
