Carl E. Kolb of 11626 Cleveland Road, Cleveland, was born to eternal life July 30, 2013. His life is a testament of dedication to God’s land, his family and his many friends. Carl was born March 6, 1930 to Alden and Myra (Klessig) Kolb. He attended Taylor School and was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. Carl also completed the 2 year UW Farm Short Course. He married Carol Roethel on August 25, 1951. They had a life filled with working together on their family farm, raising 5 sons and enjoying the many get togethers with family and friends. Carl was a long standing member of the Cleveland Lions and was awarded the Birch Strum Award for his unselfish dedication. In addition, he was town clerk of Meeme for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the Wisconsin Guernsey Breeders Association, the Lakeshore Disaster Support Group and the Wisconsin Crop Improvement Association. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ choir for many years singing God’s praises alongside Carol. Carl is preceded in death by his parents along with a daughter-in-law, Susan Kolb. He is survived by his wife, Carol, brother Eugene Kolb of Little Chute, sister, Annette Schaefer of Sheboygan, his sons Thomas Kolb of West Bend, Terry and Mary Kolb of New Holstein, Dan and Jean Kolb of Kohler, Dr. David Kolb of Lodi and Rob Kolb of Naperville, Illinois. In addition, Carl was the loving Grandpa to Corrie and Kedrick Strutz, Megan and David Clark, Sarah and Jack Kolb-Williams, Patrick Kolb, Derek and Mark Kolb, Carrie, Jackie and Angie Kolb, and Dylan and Haley Kolb. He was also Great Grandpa to Maddie. For those who knew him well, he was a great man and a wonderful role model. He spoke few words, but his actions spoke louder than words. A celebration service of his life will be held on Friday August 2, 2013 at 4:00pm at St. James United Church of Christ, 13312 Pioneer Road, Newton (Spring Valley) Wisconsin with Rev. William Kesting officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Friday from 1:00pm until 3:45pm when we will have brief family rites. A memorial has been established in his name.
