Louis Peter Jaskinia passed away peacefully at his home on December 10, 2017.

He was born in Cestohowa, TX on August 18, 1927 to Peter and Julia Pruski Jaskinia.

He married Mary Lyssy Jaskinia 65 years ago in Kosciusko, TX on May 6,1952.

He was a life-long farmer and rancher in Pawelekville, TX, and an active parishioner of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa, TX where he was a member of the Men’s Club. He served as a 4th degree knight in Council #2512, TX Knights of Columbus and was a proud board member of the Karnes County Farm Bureau where he received the Pioneer Award.

Louis and Mary were blessed with a large, loving family, daughter Jeanette and husband Mel Moczygemba, son Ivan and wife Peggy, daughter Margie and Russell Boening, son Louis Jaskinia, Jr. and wife Denise, son Donald Jaskinia; son-in-law Edward Daude. His grandchildren, Stacey and James Hertless, Lauren and James Seale, Kandace and Shane London, John Cole and Megan Jaskinia, Kevin and Courtney Daude, Kalyn Daude, Megan and Sherman Posey, Braden and Megan Boening, Ethan Boening, Amber and Casey Stagg, Craig and Ashton Bednorz, Ryan Jaskinia and Jenna Jaskinia. His great-grandchildren, Makenna and Mason Hertless, Brooklyn and Haddie Seale, Seth and Ryan London, Hayden Jaskinia, Deacon Daude, Emerson and Beckett Posey, Landyn Boening, and Kyler Bednorz.

He is survived by his sisters Agnes Wiatrek and Theresa and brother-in-law Edwin Dzuik, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Lyssy, Margaret Gorzell, Sister Mary Gerard Jaskinia, and his beloved daughter Darlene Jaskinia Daude.

Visitation will take place beginning at 4:30 pm Thursday, December 14, 2017, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Cestohowa Cemetery.
