MARTINA ELIZABETH SHORT SHERIDAN, age 88, of Sewanee, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, December 11, 2017, at STRHS Sewanee following an extended illness. Mrs. Sheridan was born in Coalmont, Tenn., to the late James Short and Faye Goff Short on June 7, 1929. She was employed for over 40 years as a cook at St. Mary's Convent in Sewanee. She was an excellent cook and loved working in her flowers. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Mrs. Sheridan is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Sheridan of Sewanee. Grandsons; Joe Jackson of Sewanee, Jeff Jackson of Palmer, Brian and wife, Marie Jackson of Sewanee, Robert Pattie of Winchester, Chris Pattie of Cowan Granddaughters; Jessica Hill of Cowan, Jamie Jackson of Sewanee, Daughter, Lynn Sheridan of Cowan, Several Great-grandchildren, Great-Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Sheridan are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 14, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with visitation to be held from 11:00 A.M. until Service time at 1:00. Interment will follow in the O'Dear Cemetery in Sewanee.
