Merlin Bartley, age 77, of Albion passed away peacefully at Borgess Medical Center under the loving care of his family on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. He was born March 23, 1940 in Penny, Kentucky the son of Cecil and Bertha (Newsome) Bartley. He married Hazel Bartley on December 24, 1959 in Long Fork, Kentucky and she survives. He was a member of the fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for ten years and was employed with Harvard Industries for 34 years until his retirement in 1999.
In addition to his wife, Merlin is also survived by son, Tony Bartley; brother, Vernon (Ollie Jean) Bartley; sister-in-laws: Dotty Strohmenger and Katie Bartley; brother-in-law: Tex (Brenda) Bartley; grandson, Ryan (Girlfriend, Heather LaBrecque) Nail; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Merlin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sterling; brother-in-laws: Malvery Tackett and Renny Strohmenger; sister-in-law: Glenna Tackett and niece, Diana Higdon.
Merlin's family will receive family and friends for visitation on Friday, December 22nd from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 25013 W. Michigan Ave., Albion.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Earl Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion.
