Funeral services for Mr. James Noel Bayless, Sr., age 86, of Bastrop are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, December 23, 2017 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bayless was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and retired from International Paper Company. He served his country in the United States Marines for thirty years. Mr. Bayless served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bayless; children, James Bayless, Jr. And wife Gretchen of Picayune, MS, Robert Bayless and wife Penny of Rocky Branch, LA, Rene Bayless of Bastrop, LA, Chris Bayless and wife Kim of Bastrop, LA, Jackie Pounders and wife Lynn of Clarks, AR, Michael Wayne Pounders of Clarks, AR, John Allen Pounders and wife Kim of AL, Robert Mitchell Pounders and wife Tammy of Baskin, LA, Diana Rouse and husband Willie of Angleton, TX, Dewanna Spencer of Rayville, LA, Melinda K. Emfinger and husband Danny of Vicksburg, MS; brother, Eddie Bayless and wife Linda of Bastrop, LA; numerous grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.
Mr. Bayless is preceded in death by his father, Simpson E. and Gladys Bayless; mother, Rena Deal Bayless; brother, Scott Bayless; sister, Claudine Navarro and previous wife, JoAnn Bayless.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Cody Spencer, Zach Musgrove, Kievan Bayless, Michael Bayless, Robby Bayless and Cade Musgrove.
Honorary pallbearers are Dusty Sanders, Jackie Pounders and Shane Bayless.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Goldens.
