She was born on April 8, 1920 in Jay, Oklahoma. In 1937, she married the love of her life, Ralph Stewart in Jay, Oklahoma.
Raised in a family of musically inclined people, Thelma loved to sing and play the guitar. She and Ralph made music in more ways than one.
She retired from Electro-Voice and was a member of Faith Victory Fellowship for nearly forty years.
She loved flowers, music and most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Denzel (Karen) Stewart of South Bend; daughter, Rayma (C. Gordon) Quick of Buchanan; brother, Bill Fields of Jay, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and seventeen great great-grandchildren. She was the sixth of ten children and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alta Fields; husband, Ralph; four brothers and four sisters.
