He saw service over France as a military pilot, having flown B-26 Bombers with the 37th Bomb Group & the 557th Squardon, U.S. Army Air Force. His Army Air Corps service was from Feb. 1943 thru Feb. 1946.

Upon leaving the military, Weir Jr. spent the next years raising his family, a wife & 10 children.

His life dream was to go see his dads grave in Hawaii. That never happened for him.
