Howard Chipman Adams, 89, passed away on October 4, 1994 in Palm Springs, California.

Born June 22, 1905 in St. George, the son of Arthur and Zina Celina Chipman Adams.

Married Isabel Ellison on April 14, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Active member of the LDS Church, having served in various positions. Graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1927. Served in World War II in the Office of Chief of Naval Operations.

Past President of National Defense Transportation Association. Served on Maritime Commission during Korean Conflict. Past executive vice president and member of board of directors of Pacific Far East Lines.

Survivors: wife, Isabel, of Palm Springs, California; daughter, Mrs. Ann (Herbert) Cole, of Tacoma, Washington; sons, Howard E. (Betty) Adams, of Burlington, North Carolina and Robert E. (Ann) Adams of Salt Lake City; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple Street, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
