James Paul Hankins III was born March 11, 1948, in Benton Harbor, the son of James and Elizabeth (Carmichael) Hankins. He passed away at the age of 69 on Dec. 21, 2017, at University Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich.
James was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School and then attended Lake Michigan College. He was formerly employed at Zenith Corp. and Augusta Air.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 29, at Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where a celebration of life service to honor James’ memory will follow. The Rev. Lonnie Truelove will officiate. Private burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
