Services for Joan Mundell, 79, of Killeen, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church Clements Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Parnell and Pat McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.

She died March 20, 2007, in a Temple hospital.

Mundell was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Killeen, to Walter and Irma Ford Mundell, longtime residents of Bell County. She lived her entire life in Killeen except for a time at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1940, a member of the Killeen Area Heritage Association and a charter member of the West Bell County Genealogical Club. She retired from the theaters in Killeen after 48 years of service with Rob Rowley Theatres, Rowley United Theatres and United Artists Theaters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roy E. Mundell.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Lynda and her husband, Cotton Adams of Killeen; one brother, Kent Mundell and his wife Dorene of Lake Belton; nephews, Robert Gray Mundell of San Angelo, Gordon G. Adams of Salado, Roy Adams of Deer Park and Kent Mundell Jr. of Spanaway, Wash.; three nieces, Karol Halfman of Lake Belton, Anne Emery of Temple and Dixie Lynn Smith of Puyallup, Wash.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Killeen building fund or another charity.
