Grace Connell, a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on April 21, 2016. She was 94. Grace was born May 30, 1921 in Childress, Texas to John and Emma Adkisson. She moved to southern California when she was nine, and later met her husband, Frank Connell, while she was working in a hardware store. They were married on February 28, 1940. Grace and Frank raised their three daughters in Huntington Park, California, before moving to Santa Rosa in 1956. Grace is survived by her daughter Karen Bohn, and son-in-law Ernst; daughter Diane, her daughter, Christine Mahrt and son-in-law, Hans, grandchildren, Eric Born, Heidi (Bill) Cusworth, Denise (Mark) Howe, Gregory Mahrt, Jenny (Sean) Miller, Julie Beer and Lori (Emily Ashley) Mahrt; and great-great grandchildren, Katharine and Leah Cederberg, Carter Howe, Sebastian Bohn, Clare and Iris Miller Hans Mahrt, and Freya Mart. She was preceded in death by her husand and parents; brother, Leslie; sisters, Daisy, Aldine, Irene and Hazel; and son-in-law Jerry Beer. Grace enjoyed taking drives along the California and Oregon coasts with Frank, traveling with her daughters, and visiting over lunch. She is remembered for her incomparable cooking, conversation, letter writing, singing and storytelling. The family held a private celebration of life in her honor.
