PITTSBURG - Graveside services for Cecil Jerold Burks, 69, Pittsburg, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Monticello Cemetery, Titus County, with Brother Doyle Rust officiating under direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home, Pittsburg.
Mr. Burks died Aug. 1, 2006, in a Pittsburg hospital.
He was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Ben Wheeler to the late Allie Lee and Irene Guthery Burks. He was a self-employed brick layer for 40 years and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Burks on Nov. 17, 2004, and son, Cecil Roy Burks.
Survivors include sons, Jerald Burks and Tommy Burks, both of Winnsboro, and Rickey Burks, Tyler; brothers, Sherwood Burks, Franklin, and Billy Burks, Kennedale; sisters, Vita Mae McIntire, Durant, Okla., Leone Farmer, Frankston, and Betty Sue Del, Baytown; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
