James D. “Don” Hasten, 61, of Pasadena, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, in Houston.

Don was born July 3, 1956 in Baytown, to parents; William Hulen Hasten, Sr. and Lena Marie Hardin Hasten. He was a longtime resident of Pasadena. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School class of 1975, attended trade schools, and was a master electrician for Prism Electric. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, and visiting with family and friends.

Mr. Hasten was preceded in death by his father: William Hulen Hasten, Sr., mother: Lena Marie Hardin Hasten, and brothers: William Hulen Hasten, Jr. and Thomas Roy Hasten.

He is survived by his wife of 13 ½ years: Patti Kay Benedict Hasten, daughters: Marcie Marie Berry and husband Mike, Amanda Lynn Johnson and husband Roy, Brandy Nicole Webb and husband Joshua, and Heather Ashley Hewitt-Polishak and husband Jason, son: Chris Michael Hewitt and wife Tyanne, sister: Jaclynn Marie Anderson and husband Gene, grandchildren: Madeline Berry, Marshall Berry, Merric Berry, James Hasten, Alice Bondurant, Jazmyn Webb, Asher Webb, Connor Hewitt, and Courtney Hewitt, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown with interment following at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie.
