Obituary
Mr. Abel T. James, a respected and highly esteemed citizen of Onley, Va., died on Wednesday, January 31st, 1917, aged about 85 years. Mr. James had been in poor health for several years but death was due to paralysis. Most of his life he had been a devoted member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were held at Onley Methodist Church on Friday, February 2nd, conducted by his pastor, Rev. C. H. Williams, and interment was in Mt. Holly cemetery, Onancock. His widow, Mrs. Susie Hopkins James, one son, Mr. Ralph James, of Pittsburgh, Pa., two daughters, Mrs. Etterman Scott, of Onley and Mrs. Georgia Joynes, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and one sister, Mrs. A. S. Kellam, of Wachapreague, survive him.
