James M. Fair, 72, of Centre Twp., passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in his residence. He was the husband of Barbara E. (Miller) Fair, who died on June 2, 2000.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Mervin and Grace (Esterly) Fair. He was a 1963 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. James was a dairy farmer on his farm in Centre Twp. He was a member of the Berks County Historical Society. James enjoyed genealogy and had up to 19,000 people on his family tree through Ancestry.com.

James is survived by his children: Rachel R. (Fair), wife of Michael Post, Breinigsville; Emily G. (Fair), wife of Tyler Suter, Hollidaysburg; Travis L. Fair, Lancaster; and Timothy A. Fair, Centre Twp. He is also survived by two brothers: Elmer Fair, and his wife Kathryn; and David Fair, and his wife Judy; both of Centre Twp.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home on Friday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
