U.S. VeteranMr. Donald Ray Abercrombie, age 79 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 following a lengthy illness. Mr. Abercrombie was a retired millwright from Stone Container and was an avid fisherman. He loved his family and enjoyed time with the grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family 11:00am until time of services Friday, January 5, 2018 at North Hodge Assembly of God Church. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm at the church with Reverend Geary Phillips, Reverend Joel Sneed and Reverend David Wilson officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olive East Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Mr. Abercrombie is survived by his children, Reggie Askin, Todd Abercrombie and Leisha Abercrombie Smith & husband Jeff; grandchildren, Jordy and Dustie Askin, Bailee, Luke and Noah Abercrombie, Rod Folks, Rachel and Logan Smith; great-grandchildren, Kiah Askin, Amiah Porter, Demi Houge and Greyson Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mr. Abercrombie in death were his wife, Jean Abercrombie; grandchild, Christan Askin; parents, Lynn & Dora Abercrombie; brothers, Hubert Abercrombie, Edwin Abercrombie and Doyle Abercrombie; sister, Meryl Nunn.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Chief Chris Womack, Assistant Chief Tommy Woods, Driver Jeff Pohl, Captain Jason Pyle, Chief Mark Treadway, Captain Tommy Caesar.
