MRS. ANNA MARIA MILLER (sic), 97,
LAST OF PIONEER FAMILY
Bethel, Feb. 25.—Old age called
another of our residents early this
morning, when Mrs. Anna Maria
Miller passed away at her home
here after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Miller was born Oct. 29,
1845, and was therefore 97 years
and three months of age. She was
the daughter of William and Charlotte
Townsend of this town. When
she reached womanhood she went
to New York city, where she married
George Baker, and one daughter,
Florence, was born. After Mr.
Baker’s death the widow and
daughter moved to Bethel.
Nana, as Mrs. Miller was known
by many of her friends, was a
kind-hearted and very sweet person.
She was a member of the
Hurd M.E. church.
One daughter, Mrs. John Acklam,
survives; also two grandchildren—
Mrs. Fred Rouff of Smallwood and
Mrs. Lester Crookston of Middletown,
and three great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be
held at her home on Saturday, Feb.
27 at 2 o’clock, Rev. A. Robbins of
Kauneonga Lake officiating. Interment
will take place in the
Bethel Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers
will be O. T. Coots, John
Coots, Edwin Hendrix and Floyd
Gabriel, with undertaker John Naylor
in charge.

* Note: Her brother, William, was married to Charlotte TAYLOR. I doubt that her mother was a Charlotte Taylor as well, as shown on her page.
