Clarence J. "C.J." Miller, age 89, of 1071 Creeks Cross Road, Kohler, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1918, in St. Nazianz, son of the late John and Frances (Horneck) Miller. After graduating from Valders High School, he worked with his father at Miller Implement, later becoming co-owner of the business with his brothers.

Clarence joined the U.S. Army in the 12th Armored Division in 1942, serving in World War II from 1944-1946. After returning home from the war, he met the love of his life Paula Braun, and the couple was married in December of 1946 in Michigan. He was a former member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, and a current member of St. John Catholic Church in Kohler. In his free time C.J. enjoyed to cook and garden, and he always had a passion for animals. The most important thing in C.J's life was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife: Paula Miller of Kohler; five children: Ann Twohig, Jim Miller, and Kay Miller, all of Kohler; Bob (Melanie) Miller of Kirkland, Wash.; and Kim (Thom Evans) Miller of Monona; 11 grandchildren: George (Caroline Brotz) Twohig of Elkhart Lake; Mike (Katie) Twohig of Utah; Pete Twohig of Milwaukee; Connor McDermott of Monona; Elena, Mara, and Jenna Evans of Monona; and Copeland and Madison Miller of Kirkland; and two great-grandchildren. His parents, a daughter: Susan Miller; and two brothers: Victor and Raymond Miller, preceded him in death.

According to Clarence's wishes, a private memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Sept. 1, 2007, at St. John Catholic Church, in Kohler.

Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral and Cremation Service, is assisting the family with arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Clarence Miller for the Salvatorian Mission in New Holstein.
