Mark Edward Huebner, 68, of Readlyn, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital from natural causes.

Mark was born July 11, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Marvin and Ruby (Aschbrenner) Huebner. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church-Klinger. As a young boy he was active in 4-H. He was a 1967 graduate of Wapsie Valley High School and then earned a degree in Farm Operations from Iowa State University in 1971. On April 15, 1977, he was united in marriage to Rhonda (Dallenbach) at Immanuel Lutheran Church-Klinger. The couple would farm crops and raise and milk dairy cows outside of Readlyn. Rhonda passed away in 1984 and Mark continued to live on the farm. He retired from raising dairy cows in 2011 but would continue to farm crops and show cows at local fairs.

Mark was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church-Klinger, where he served as a deacon for many years. Mark was an outdoorsman and true caretaker of the land; he often had plants and flowers on his deck. He enjoyed attending and showing cattle at county fairs and cow shows and was active with the dairy promoters. He was an avid Iowa State University and Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed watching most any sport. Trips to Amish country were always a highlight for Mark. Indoors, he could be found reading the Bible or a Louise Lamour classic, watching a John Wayne movie or enjoying time with friends playing cards. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mark is survived by one son; Matthew Huebner of Readlyn, one daughter; Rachel (Glenn) Huebner of Readlyn, his mother Ruby Huebner of Waverly, one brother; Dave (Cindy) Huebner of Crystal Lake, Illinois, one sister; Becky (Ken) Jordan of Collins, Iowa, four grandchildren; Leah(13), Lydia(3), Manny(11) and Macy(10). He is preceded in death by his father Marvin, wife Rhonda, and a daughter Emily.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church-Klinger with Rev. Larry Feldt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Readlyn and for an hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
