Bigbee—Barbara Ann Rea Sargent, 68, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, she was born February 2, 1942 to the late Ruble Rea and Vedie Lee Wardlaw Robertson. She married William Thaniel Sargent in 1957 who survives. Before her retirement, she worked for Peoplelounger and Amory Garment Co. A devout Christian woman, she was a member of the Cason Baptist Church and she enjoyed reading. An exceptional cook, she was a devoted wife and mother that enjoyed spending time with her family. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley, Bro. Shane Crawford, and Bro. Keith Ray officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband 52 years, William Thaniel Sargent of Bigbee; 3 sons, Tony Sargent of the home, Rob Sargent (Sharon) of Bigbee and Mike Sargent (Mandee) of Bigbee; one brother, Ruble Ray (Shirley) of Northport, AL; one sister, Hazel Stovall of Okolona; and 7 grandchildren, Brandon, Shannon, Madison, Annah Grace, James Michael, Karleigh Ann, and William Noah. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Patricia Ann Sargent; and her grandparents. Pallbearers will be Rick Stovall, Brandon Sargent, Edward Sargent, Matthew Wilson, Timmy Bishop, Keith Ray, Alex Sargent, Mark Sargent, and Everett Lockridge. Visitation will continue until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
