Volney A. Dubel dies at Sheldon, Iowa. He was born 1845, and died about 6 o'clock on Friday evening, Jan.1895. Volney A. Dubel was a Civil War Veteran, Co. E, 25th Ohio Inf., G.A.R. member of the Grand Army of the Republic, and his wife was Ellen Dubel (1847-1932).
Last week V.A. Dubel, the Washta, Iowa, blacksmith, went to George, Iowa, in Lyon county, to visit his son C.A. Dubel, who is principal of the George schools. After his visit he went to Sheldon to spend a day or so with some G.A.R. friends residing there.
The deceased was 50 years of age. He operated a blacksmith shop at Quimby for some time and recently removed to Washta, Iowa. His family resides at Quimby.
