He was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Wayne Township to Jesse and Pearl Moore Fox and was married May 23, 1942, to Leanna Johnson Fox, who survives.
A life-long resident of Greene County, he was a member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church and Local 66, Operating Engineers in Monroeville. He was a heavy equipment operator for various contractors in the district.
Also surviving are two sons, Lewis C. Fox of Dale City, Va., and Rodney Fox of Waynesburg RD3; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Don "Margaret" Lemley of Waynesburg RD3; a brother, Clarence E. of Waynesburg; a foster brother, Jerry Phillips of Chilacothe, Ohio, and also several nieces and nephews.
