He married Bashaba "Bashby" Louise Herrington of Mississippi, in 1881. They had five daughters: Martha Didammie, Lucy Ann, Sara Ellie, Fannie and Lillie Viance, as well as three sons: John Bithum, George and Greenberry, Jr.
