He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1971 with a degree in Business Administration. He also earned an associate degree from Oklahoma State Tech in shoe, boot, and saddle making. He owned Rowell's Shoe Service in Austin for more than 20 years.
Steve was a great man and a loving father. He married Nancy Watts in 1973 and the couple had 2 children together.
Steve was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the Church of Christ for all his life. He enjoyed music, BBQ, fishing, and time with family. His family and friends will always remember him as a very helpful person and a great storyteller.
He is preceded in death by his mother, June Martin, of Wichita, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Martin, of Austin, TX; his daughter and, Sarah Martin Scott, and husband Cody, of Austin, TX; his daughter, Alison Martin Centanni and husband Jason, of Lubbock, TX; his grandchildren Jacob Scott, Cooper Scott, and Austin Centanni; his father Richard Martin of Wichita, KS; his brother Greg Martin, of Wichita, KS; and his sister Heidi Houseman, of Concord, CA; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral service will be at the Westover Hills Church of Christ. Interment will immediately follow at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. Scott Warner will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve's life.
