Edwardsville - Shelvey Jean Parker, 73, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011, at University Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Parker will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buford Gaines and the Rev. Bobby Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Edwardsville City Cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at Dryden Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gary Cheatwood, Lee Clark, Kyrus Clark, Canaan Howell, Ethan Howell, and Dakota Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Ben McDonald, Garrett Cheatwood, Graham Cheatwood and Kade Clark. Survivors include her husband, Archie Dee Parker, of Edwardsville; daughter, DeeAnn Parker, and son, Tommy (Crystal) Smith, both of Edwardsville; two sisters, Grace McDonald (138285944), of Virginia and Bobby (Fred) Cheatwood, of Heflin; two brothers, Robert (Debbie) Clark and Tommy Clark, both of Heflin; one grandchild. Mrs. Parker, a life long resident of Cleburne County was retired as the Postmaster of Edwardsville Post Office, Edwardsville, Ala. She was a member of Abel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Oma Clark; a daughter, Wanda Smith; a brother, Buddy Clark, and best friend, Maylene Kaylor.
