Ms. DeHaven was born June 19, 1916, in Gainesboro and was the daughter of the late Walter and Effie Selina DeHaven.
She graduated from the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind. Before moving to Harrisonburg, where she has resided for 20 years, she resided in Winchester, Arlington and Washington, D.C. She worked for the federal government Office of Personnel Management as a dictating machine transcriber before retiring in 1977. She was also a member of the Ray of Hope Church in Harrisonburg.
Surviving are two sisters, Catherine DeHaven of Harrisonburg and Dorothy Fowler of Westminster, Md.; a brother, Earl W. DeHaven of East Berlin, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.
The Revs. Jimmy Kite and Harold Myers will conduct the funeral 1 p.m. Saturday at Ray of Hope Church. Burial will be in the Woodbine Cemetery.
