Manitowoc - Thomas E. Schmitt Sr., age 75, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
Tom was born on July 25, 1942 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Herbert and Olive Kubsch Schmitt. On November 18, 1961 he married Marian Reilly at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2014. Tom was employed at Lee's Color Studio for 30 years retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and eating her delicious home cooking.
He is survived by his son: Thomas Schmitt Jr. and his fiancée, Stacy Albrecht, Manitowoc; brother: Gary (Sue) Schmitt, Fond du lac; sister: Nancy (Roy) Berres, Manitowoc; close friend: Judy, Manitowoc; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Olive Schmitt; and his wife: Marian.
In respect to Tom's wishes there will be no funeral services or visitation. Burial will take place with a private family gathering at Knollwood Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 2018.
