Eula Mable (Bledsoe) Thurman was the daughter of Newton Bledsoe and Sarah Ann (Skinner) Bledsoe who were natives of Missouri. Eula had the following known siblings:

Willis R. Bledsoe 1880 –
Willard Bledsoe 1882 –
Charley Bledsoe 1883 –
Mary Bledsoe 1886 –
Martin Bledsoe 1891 –
Martha S. Bledsoe 1895 –
Bertie B Bledsoe 1897 –
Stella Bledsoe 1902 –

On December 26, 1918 in Elmer, Macon County, Missouri, Eula married Elmer Thomas Thurman. They spent all of their married life farming in Macon County, Missouri. They owned the farm which once belonged to Abraham Still and his son Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of Osteopathic medicine. The Still Cemetery is located on this farm, as started by the Still family. An infant son of Dr. A. T. Still is buried there, and also an infant son of A. T.'s brother. Also buried there are William and Cynthia (LeCompte) Thurman, who were Elmer Thomas Thurman's great great uncle and aunt. Elmer Thurman fenced this cemetery during his lifetime so it could not be damaged by cattle; however, it is not a maintained cemetery nor one accessable by a road.

Later, this farm was owned by Colonel George Edwards, a prominent resident of Macon County. The home is located on Highway 3 south of J. Highway, west of Atlanta, Missouri.

Eula and Elmer Thurman had the following children:

Esther Thurman 1919 –
Lathella S. Thurman 1920 –
Elma L. Thurman 1922 –
Sarah Arline Thurman 1924 –
Doris A. Thurman 1927 –
Elmer Leon Thurman 1929 – 1986

- Written by Blytha (Dennis) Ellis, 4th cousin to Elmer Thomas Thurman.
