Christopher Stone Jourdan, age 78 years, died at his home in Plattsburg early Monday morning, Dec. 11, 1944, after a long illness. He had many friends in Plattsburg, the town of his birth, and where he lived all his life.

He was a son of Dr. William and Shirley Shaw Jourdan, and was born October 10, 1866.

He was married Dec. 6, 1893, to Sophia Murray; who survives.

He is survived by his wife, of the home, and by two daughters, Mrs. Dora Blaine, of Webster Groves, Mo. and Mrs. Forrest Aitken, of Plattsburg.

He is also survived by one brother, Robt. Jourdan, of McFall, Mo., and seven grandchildren, Mrs. Pauline Amoss, Mrs. Louise Williams, Miss Martha Wilson of St. Louis, Carlyle Aitkens, of Kansas City, Mo., and Pvt. Forrest Aitken, Jr., stationed somewhere in France, Mrs. Helen Walsh, Miss Jean Aitken of Plattsburg; also several great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Jourdan’s sisters, Mrs. Sussie Hunt of Kansas City, and Mrs. Drew Aitkens and Mrs. Effie Alabama of St. Joseph, were here with her at the time of Mr. Jourdan’s death.

Mr. Jourdan was known to all his friends as “Babe”, and held many public offices here in Plattsburg.

Funeral services were held at the Lyon Funeral home in Plattsburg on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at half-past two o’clock, conducted by Rev. T. W. Jolly, pastor of the Plattsburg Christian church.
Burial was in the Old Cemetery at Plattsburg.
