James T. Middleton, aka “Buck”, age 84 of Georgetown, passed away on January 9, 2018 at his home surround by his family.

James was born on February 14, 1933 to Wilmer and Pauline Minch Middleton in Centreville, Maryland. He received his formal education in the Centreville Public School System. Thereafter, James worked for the Caroline County Soil Conservation District along with his father.

James enlisted in the US Army in 1951 and was deploy to Germany. He was a tank mechanic by trade. Upon his honorable discharge, James relocated to Delaware. He became a career employee with Melvin Joseph Construction; a heavy equipment operator. He was employed with Melvin Joseph Construction for 60 years before retiring in June, 2017.

James was a family man; wonderful father and grandfather. He enjoyed going to the flea markets and Chincoteague Island.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee West Middleton; a daughter, Lisa Ann West; parents, Wilmer and Pauline Middleton; and brothers, David Middleton and William F. Middleton.

He is survived by four sons, Ronald L. West, Sr. (wife, Deborah), Harvey G. West, Jr., James E. West, and Stephen West, all of Georgetown, Delaware; one daughter, Bonnie L. Adams (husband, Martin) of Georgetown, Delaware; one sister, Pauline Brown (husband, Bob) of Bel Air, Maryland; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren with one on the way; a sister-in-law, Joyce Middleton (wife of the late David Middleton); nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including his dear canine friend, Sally. The family would also like to acknowledge and give a very special thanks to Sandy Wilson, caregiver.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Watsons Funeral Home, Millsboro, Delaware. Public viewing hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will immediately following at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Millsboro, Delaware.
