Cecelia S. Mella, age 100, a resident of Sacred Heart Court, Manitowoc, died on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

She was born on November 22, 1911 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Francis X. and Mathilda (Ziarnik) Mella. Her family moved to a farm in the Newton area and Cecelia attended Valley View School. She was employed at the Mirro Company and worked as a housekeeper for Rev. Casimir Krauklis and Rev. Rodger Idzikowski.

Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law: Gertrude Bast, Manitowoc, Rita and Norbert Pritzl, Cato; one sister-in-law: Eunice Mella, Manitowoc; 16 nephews and five nieces: Pauline Wallander, Manitowoc, Thomas Mallman, Winnetka, Illinois, Dr. Barry Bast, Manitowoc, Dr. Fred Bast, Fairbanks, Alaska, Lloyd Bast, Michigan, Lona Kowalski, Two Rivers, Rev. David Greskowiak, Taft, California, Steven Greskowiak, Manitowoc, Glenn Mella, Manitowoc, Monica Schmidt, Brillion, Gary Mella, Madison, Naomi Long, Bellview, WI, Andrew Pritzl, Madison, Barbara Pritzl, Greendale, Christopher Pritzl, Cato, Dominic Pritzl, Whitelaw, Lawrence Pritzl, Cato, Michael Pritzl, Green Bay, Mark Pritzl, Cedarburg, Patrick Pritzl, Franksville, and Nicholas Pritzl, West Bend. Many other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers-in-law: Rose and Stanley Tadych, Martha & Wilbert Mallman, Agnes and Frank Greskowiak, Phyllis and Jerome Wojta, and Fred Bast; one brother: Leonard Mella; one niece: Mary Schmeltze and one nephew: John Mallman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dan Viertel. Burial will take place at St Casimir Cemetery in Northeim.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue, Manitowoc, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
