B. B. Bennett Obituary.

Benjamin Burner Bennett was born at Jamestown, Maryland, On October 10, 1830. He was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Freeman of Kennie, Ill., in 1863. To this union were born five children; Messrs. Edgar, Freeman, Chas. and Addie and Jannie Bennett; four of whom remain to mourn the loss of their father.

His former wife having died in 1870 Benjamin Burner Bennett was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Shrock of Peru, Illinois. To this union was born one son, Benjamin Bennett. Those of this union who remain to mourn the loss are his wife, son and step-daughter, Mrs. Mae Gestenslager.

Mr. Bennett was an old soldier having enlisted at Springfield, Ill., under Capt. Luff, in Company F of 12th Illinois Volunteer cavalry on the 19th day of October, 1862, to serve three years or during the war. He was discharged on the 6th day of September, 1865, at Memphis, Tennessee, by reason of general disabilities.

Mr. Bennett was a farmer and lived near Belmont for several years, being known by the community in general. The funeral was preached at the Christian church by Rev. Cook of the Progressive Brethren church from Ashland, Ohio. Interment at Walnut cemetery.

Those present from a distance were his two sons; Edgar Bennett of Iowa, and Chas. Bennett of Mulhall, Okla.
