Motion Picture Film Editor. Worked on several of Alfred Hitchcock's movies. He was co-winner of the Oscar in 1939 for his editing work on "Gone With the Wind." He was nominated in 1940 for "Rebecca" and again in 1944 for "Since You Went Away" For 16 years, he was David O Selznick's supervising film editor. He also edited "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "The Prisoner of Zenda," and "A Star Is Born" among others.
