Dorothy Arlene Witmyer of Spring Garden Township entered into rest on Friday January 12, 2018 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert Anstine Witmyer.

Dorothy was born to the late Charles A. and Margaret F. Seifert on November 21, 1924 in Newberry Township.

She was employed by York College Food Services and York Dentsply and retired in 1993 as the owner and operator of the Lentz Personal Care Home at 900 South George Street.

Surviving are four daughters, Donna Bletner of Knoxville, TN, Trena Landis and her husband, Chester, Linda Jane Walker and her husband, John, Dorothy Knarr and her husband, Malcolm; and one son, Robert Witmyer and wife, Susan all of York, She leaves 11 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Seifert Kucinsky; and one nephew, Thomas Kucinsky. Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Witmyer; son in law, James Bletner; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Boas and Emily Witmyer.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, and spending time with family, friends and neighbors. While at York College, she befriended many international students who were far from their own families and developed long lasting relationships with her family.

A viewing will be 12 noon - 1 p.m. Wednesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. York with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Glenn Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery.
