Wilma was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the middle of seven children of Jack and Mandy Elkins.

In 1934 she married Jack Eden. In 1944 they moved to Oregon and lived in Vernonia and Grand Ronde before settling permanently in Sheridan in 1949. They were together for over 60 years when Jack died in 1995.

Her family wrote of her, "She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who gently taught all who knew her tolerance of others, the difference between right and wrong, how to love and forgive, and how to live life, even as her final days approached. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing games with friends and family. She loved knitting and crocheting. Her creations will be enjoyed by many people for years to come.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Verna Neely of Eugene, sons Dan Eden of Corvallis and Walt Eden of Sheridan, son and daughter-in-law Jackie and Claudine Eden of Sheridan, grandson Jeff Eden of Lacey, Washington, granddaughters Ronda Chaloupka of Gladstone, Laura Walker of Eugene, Cindy Lee of Anchorage, Alaska, Jodi Pilcher of Duluth, Georgia and Traci Emry of Corvallis along with 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous friends who were honored to know her and considered "family".

Wilma was preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters.
