Cora Belle Harvey Laine, named after a boat moored at Moss Landing, was orphaned by the age of 13 and spent the rest of her life in the Brighton / Perkins area of Sacramento. She lived with her uncle and cousin and later married Bill Laine, ten years her senior, and spent the next 65 years living on a farm on Folsom Boulevard near what is now the Howe Avenue intersection at Power Inn Road. She had six children, Ethel Cora, Stella Bertha, Verna Viola, William Henry Jr., Ervey Owen, and Edith Dorothy. As of 2007 she has 37 descendents.
