Funeral services for Mrs Clara Susan Griffith, 73, of Chula Vista, Calif, formerly of Beckley, will be held at the Melton Mortuary Chapel at 1 pm Sunday with the Rev Carl Johnson in charge.
Burial will follow in Sunset memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Basil Sweeney, Dorsey Sweeney, Ray Sweeney, Ira Sweeney, Edra Sweeney, Junior Sweeney, Ronald O'Dell and J M McComas.
She died at 8:45 am Wednesday in a California hospital after a one-day illness.
A daughter of the late Joseph and Manda Cottle Sweeney, she was born April 18, 1894, in Sweeneyburg.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Cleveland Griffith, at home; a daughter, Mrs Robert (Joann) Hood of Chula Vista; five sons, Marlin and Ardel, both of Elyria, Ohio, James and Charles, both of Princeton and Doff, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; a brother, Phillip Sweeney, of Sweeneyburg, and 11 grandchildren.
