Edward Lee "Ed" Arp, 76, of 1770 Flint Hill Road, Aragon, passed away Friday Dec. 10, 2004. He was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Polk County, son of the late Robert B. "Bob" Arp, Sr. He was a retired self-employed mechanic and farmer, a member of Live Oak Baptist Church for 54 years where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, and a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his son, Neal Wilson in 1972, and first wife, Dorothy Scoggins Arp. Mr. Arp is survived by his wife, Ovaline Shirah Arp of Aragon; two sons, Revis Arp of Aragon and Steve Wilson of McDonough; mother, Stella Gribble Arp of Aragon; two brothers, Horace Arp and R. B. Arp, Jr. both of Aragon; three sisters, Jeanette Nickles of Rome, Ivanell Nettles and Helen Flippin of Rockmart; seven grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Sunday Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. from Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Battle, Sr., Rev. Ray Hopkins, and Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in Live Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers: Eric Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, Ron Arp, Donnie Holders, Greg Willis, and Robin Arp.
