Eunice Mary Jane Dunn was born between 1825 and 1827 (dates vary on records) in New York to Benjamind and Phoebe (?) Dunn. It is not known when she came to Michigan are unknown at this time.

Little is known about her childhood.

Eunice Mary Jane Dunn on May 10 or 13, 1842 in Delhi Township married Chester Holley. He was 22 and Mary Jane (the name that appears on most of her records) was 17. The record of the marriage has Chester’s surname spelled as Hawley.
The marriage was witnessed by John and Samuel Dunn. This may have been brothers or one her father.

They spent their lives in the Aurelius area.

To this union was born 8* known children.

No censuses have been found for the family during their time in Aurelius or Delhi Townships. Research will continue of this.

Chester died February 12, 1869 and is buried near other Holley family members in the North Aurelius Cemetery in Aurelius Township, Ingham County, MI

Between 2-12-1869 and 5-15-1869 Mary Jane married William Hyde. He was 12-16 years her senior. Censuses show them living in Delhi and Crawford Counties, MI.

On 5-15-1869 Mary Jane Hyde, widow of Chester Holley and guardian of all minor children sold at public auction in Mason, MI the family land.

Sometime in the 1880’s Mary Jane returns to Ingham County and in 1888 is living in the household of Daniel Eckhart in Aurelius Township.

She died in Aurelius Township 7-24-1899 in the Eckhart home. She is buried beside Chester in North Aurelius Cemetery.
