Bennie J. Crescenzo, 85, Machesney Park, IL passed away peacefully Wed., April 23, 2008, in his home. Born April 28, 1922, in Rockford, the son of Vincent and Carmela (Callea) Crescenzo. Married Clara A. Johnson on May 14, 1949, in Rockford. Bennie and Clara owned B & J Grocery for 10 years. Employed by LaFontaine Distributing and Ingersoll Milling Machine, retiring in 1981. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and Ingersoll Retirees. Bennie loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandsons. He enjoyed going to McDonald's for coffee with his fellow retirees.

Survivors include wife, Clara; son, Vince Crescenzo; daughter, Mary (Larry) Nalewanski; two grandsons, Nicholas and Nolan; sisters, Stella (George) Bielefeldt and Mary Crescenzo and brother, John. Predeceased by sister, Joanne Corpora; and brother, Karlo Crescenzo.
