Funeral Rites For S. L. McGinnis
Services for Sidney Lee McGinnis, retired Greenwood contractor, will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home with the Rev. N. J. Golding officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Mr. McGinnis who was 80, died at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock following a long illness. He was born in Blount county, Alabama, but moved to Greenwood in 1903 where he was prominently identified in the contracting business. Many structures in Greenwood were built under his supervision and construction. He was a member of the Elks Club and the Methodist church.
He leaves three sons. Albert McGinnis of Chicago; Perry McGinnis and George McGinnis of Greenwood; two daughters, Mrs. Morgan Lloyd of Hamilton. Ala., and Mrs. Norris Able of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two brothers, the Rev. Carl McGinnis of Kenedy, Texas, and Frank McGinnis of Macon, Ga., an two sisters, Mrs. J. A. Vandiver, of Birmingham. Ala, and Mrs. Ella Shropshire of Rome. Ga.
Pallbearers will be; R. L. Howell, Artis Randall, George Pearce, Elmer Gwin, Jesse Quinn, C. II. Robinett, Roger Elfert and C. G. Hull. Jr.
