Gordon Harris was a Police Officer in Lewiston, Idaho. He served 3 years for the Police Force, dying in the line of duty at age 27. Officer Harris was operating a roadblock on the Waha-Lewiston Road following a Bank Robbery in Craigmont, Idaho. The suspect vehicle was stopped at the roadblock as Officer Harris ordered the four suspects to exit their vehicle. One of the suspects opened fire with a rifle, striking Officer Harris in the chest. Although mortally wounded, he was able to return fire, wounding one of the suspects. All four were arrested a short time later. Officer Harris was survived by his wife and a young child.
