Ruth was born October 30, 1923, in New Holstein, daughter of 12 children of the late John & Edna (Miller) Boll. On October 30, 1947, she married Frank Henry Kennon Jr. in Oakland, CA. Frank preceded her in death on May 31, 1952, while serving in the US Navy during the Korean War. Following the death of her husband, for many years, Ruth shared her life with Herb Bruckner, who was like a father-figure to her daughters.
She worked for many years at Hickory Hills Country Club in Chilton. Ruth was an avid walker and reader. She volunteered at the Salvatorian Center and donated blood until she was in her 80’s. Ruth golfed for a lot of years at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sandi (Roger) Freund of West Allis and Cherri Wiley of DeForest, WI; six grandsons, Adam (Brittany) Freund, Aaron (Rebecca) Freund, Justin (Erica) Wiley, Jeremy (Theresa) Wiley, Nicholas (Amy) Wiley, and Travis Wiley; six great-grandchildren, Torin & Kobe Freund, Evelynn Freund, Tenley, Taylor, and Teagan Wiley; the third great-grandson expected in February; her brothers, Leon (Marie) Boll, John Boll, David (Norma) Boll, and Thomas (Nancy) Boll; sisters-in-law, Lennie Boll and Kay Boll. Ruth is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; friends and four legged fur babies.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John & Edna Boll; her husband, Frank Henry Kennon Jr.; her sisters, Alice (Dr. Al) Theiler, Leona (Wilfred) Turba, Jeannette (Harold) Jaschob, and June (Ike) Herrell; her brothers, Donald Boll, Robert Boll, and Norman Boll, who died in infancy; a sister-in-law, Ruth Boll; her companion, Herb Bruckner; and her former son-in-law, James K. Wiley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Private family entombment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park Mausoleum near Manitowoc.
